I'm Shadan Golestan, a postdoctoral fellow at the Computing Science of the University of Alberta, working with Prof. Osmar Zaiane.

My research focuses on sequential decision-making algorithms (Reinforcement Learning and Bayesian optimization), and Machine Adaptation for real-world problems.

Before that, I was a PhD candidate in the same department under the supervision of Prof. Pierre Boulanger. I researched on Bayesian optimization and simulation methodologies for optimizing and evaluating smart indoor spaces.
